GoRedForWomen: Hatter Green goes Red for American Heart Association

GoRed-2015
In 2015, President Wendy Libby and Stetson colleagues showed their support for the American Heart Association’s #GoRedforWomen campaign.

The first Friday of February is National Wear Red Day, a single day sponsored by the American Heart Association to bring attention to the fact that one out of three deaths among women each year is caused by heart disease and stroke. According to the Heart Association, more than 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.

On this Friday, Feb. 5, it’s an opportunity to Go Red For Women and show your support for a healthier lifestyle and the impact heart disease and stroke are having on the lives of women. This is your chance to raise awareness of the simple steps each woman can take to fight it.

Let people know by posting social-media images of yourself or your friends wearing red. Use the hashtag #GoRed and tag @StetsonU so the university can reshare your posts.
