Members of Stetson’s 1969-70 men’s basketball team will be honored at halftime of Saturday’s game against NJIT. Tip-off for the game is 3:30 p.m. at Edmunds Center.

Saturday is one day shy of the 46th anniversary of arguably the greatest win in program history. The Hatters defeated 18th-ranked Louisville, 87-80, on Jan. 17, 1970, in Orlando.

Widely considered to be Stetson’s greatest men’s basketball squad, the ’69-70 Hatters posted a 22-7 record and won the South Atlantic Regional to reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA College Division Finals. Led by All-American Earnest Killum, the ’69-70 Hatters set a school record for wins in a season and are one of just three teams in school history to reach the 20-win plateau.

In addition to team members, head coach and College Basketball Hall of Fame member Dr. Glenn Wilkes will be in attendance, as will former assistant coach and Stetson Hall of Famer Bob Weickel.
