On Nov. 9, news of Stetson again being named a Military Friendly School by Victory Media was featured on KLTV-TV, KPLC-TV, WECT-TV, KUAM and over 30 other news outlets.

Christopher Ferguson, Ph.D., associate professor and co-chair of Psychology, shared his thoughts about the rising trend of “mass shootings” in the United States, as reported by Yahoo! Health on Nov. 10.

Additionally, Yahoo! Health also featured Professor Ferguson’s explanation the explosion of popularity behind Adele’s new song Hello on Nov. 12.

On Nov. 5, The Harvard Crimson quoted Law Professor Peter Lake in an article titled “Harvard Lands Fourth in Economist’s First College Rankings.” On Nov. 3, The Harvard Crimson quoted Professor Lake in an article titled “In Fisher Amicus Brief, Harvard Defends Race-Based Affirmative Action.”

Law Professor James Fox’s review of Kurt Lash’s “The Fourteenth Amendment and the Privileges and Immunities of American Citizenship” is highlighted in the Nov. 4 Legal Theory Blog.

On Nov. 5, Monica Mendoza Jeancola, Ph.D., assistant professor of Accounting, was quoted in an article from GoodCall talking about employment for accounting and finance degree holders.

Scott Jones, Ph.D., assistant professor and Marketing Department Chair, was mentioned in a Metro news article regarding state attorney generals cracking down on the daily fantasy industry.

The Nov. 5 Tampa Bay Times reported that Stetson Law hosted a Lawyers Without Rights discussion about Jewish lawyers during the Third Reich. The Nov. 6 Jewish Press also ran an article on the Lawyers Without Rights discussion.

The Nov. 9 Gulfport Gabber reported that Stetson Law’s Law Review students hosted a book drive to collect books for area teens.

The Targeted News Service reported: Stetson’s Elder Law Inn was honored at the Supreme Court in Washington Nov. 7;  FEC chair Ann Ravel spoke at Stetson Law, Nov. 4; Florida Bar President Ramon A. Abadin visited with students, faculty and staff at Stetson Law, Nov. 4.

On Nov. 3, UCF Today reported that UCF’s alumni association honored Law Associate Dean Susan Rozelle with a Professional Achievement Award at the Black & Gold Gala on Oct. 22.

Stetson alumna Lia Hewitt was named Florida’s Music Educator of the Year, as reported by West Orange Times & Observer on Nov. 6.

Creative Loafing profiles Law alumnus and St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman in the article, “Ask the Locals: St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman.”

Law alumnus J. Brent Walker is quoted in the Nov. 3 Abilene Reporter-News article, “Speaker: Responsibility part of religious liberty.”

On Nov. 5, City Biz List reported that Stetson Law alumnus William S. Kramer, a partner at the full-service South Florida law firm Brinkley Morgan, was recently elected as chair-elect of the Board of Directors for SOS Children’s Villages.

On Nov. 5, The Tampa Bay Newswire reported that Stetson Law alumna Natalie L. McEwan joined Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP.

According to a Nov. 5 press release from Pinstripe Marketing, Law alumna Caroline Black Sikorske has been elected to the American College of Family Trial Lawyers.
