We Love Stetson!

February marks the launch of the We Love Stetson campaign on Stetson’s campuses. This new campaign — organized by the Development and Alumni Engagement division — is designed to express gratitude toward faculty and staff partners in DeLand, Celebration, Gulfport and Tampa. It’s a dedicated time to say thank you for the time and talent you give to Stetson each day.

Everyone does their part to make a Stetson education meaningful for students. For Development and Alumni Engagement staff, this means sharing the stories of your work with Stetson’s alumni and donors to keep them up to date, nurture meaningful relationships and even obtain funding that leads to further advancements at Stetson. These initiatives include:

  • We Love Stetson LOGO-copy 2student success programs
  • student research
  • scholarships
  • concert choir travel tours
  • library enhancements
  • the CUB renovation
  • new academic programs
  • endowed faculty positions
  • and so much more

Campus Conversations

In late February, Development and Alumni staff will be visiting areas throughout Stetson’s campuses, talking with people and sharing small treats of appreciation. It may spark conversation, new ideas, new connections. Ultimately, what comes out of this campaign will provide additional resources to enhance our ability to serve students.

These conversations will shed light on interesting opportunities where we can more deeply involve our alumni in the life of Stetson (Need a guest speaker for a class or event? A contact in a particular field of study or geographic area?). It will help us learn more about your work and think about potential supporters among alumni and friends. All of this comes back to benefit faculty, staff and most of all, the students.

Giving to Stetson

And for those faculty and staff who feel compelled, yes, it will spark giving to initiatives at Stetson you feel strongly about.

Part of Development and Alumni Engagement is about fundraising, after all. We talk to people about directing their resources toward departments, programs and causes they care about. We make the case, you make the choice.

Do you feel strongly about scholarships? What a student organization is doing at Stetson? What’s happening in your own school, college or department? It’s participation, more than amount, that matters and that shows the outside world — potential donors, private foundations that award grants — just how deeply faculty and staff believe in the work they are doing to help equip students for lives of significance.

Don’t want to talk about making a gift? Have a treat anyway. And thanks for what you already give to Stetson and your students every day.
