Stetson soprano performs senior recital Sunday

EmilyMiller copySoprano Emily Miller, Stetson University music major, will perform her senior recital on Sunday, Jan. 25, at 4 p.m., in Lee Chapel, inside Elizabeth Hall, 421 N. Woodland Blvd., on Stetson’s DeLand campus. The public is invited at no charge. This recital is given in partial fulfillment of the degree Bachelor of Music Performance.

Miller, from the Studio of Mollie Rich, is the daughter of Monica and Wendell Miller of Windermere, Fla. At Stetson, she is the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, the Duckwitz Talent Scholarship, the Florida Medallion Scholars Award and an Academic Honors Scholarship.

A member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a music fraternity for women, she works in Stetson’s School of Business Administration Dean’s Office.

Miller’s program will include music written by some of the world’s greatest composers, including Joseph Haydn, George Frideric Handel, Francis Poulenc, Leo Delibes, W.A. Mozart, Gustav Mahler and John Kander. Jeremy Vigil, recent Stetson music graduate, will accompany Miller on piano and organ. Also performing with her will be Amanda Caban, soprano; Austin Burket, violin; Jackie Byl, violin; and Sarah Overton, cello.
