With the start of the 2015 college baseball season just around the corner, fans of  Stetson baseball will have a chance to get an early look at the Hatters on Tuesday evening, Feb. 3, at the new Wayne G. Sanborn Community Center on Alabama Avenue.

The annual Dick Westervelt First Pitch Banquet is Stetson Baseball’s annual introduction to the upcoming season. Hall of Fame head coach Pete Dunn will speak and present 2014 team awards. The Hatters open the 2015 season when they host LaSalle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, at Melching Field.

Awards that will be presented during the evening will include the Willard Behm MVP, the Outstanding Offensive Player, the Outstanding Pitcher, the Lou Bazzano Outstanding Effort, the Service Awards and the Student-Athlete Award.

Tickets to the 2015 Dick Westervelt First Pitch Banquet cost $15 per person and include dinner. There will also be a cash bar available.

The evening will begin with a social hour from 6-7 p.m., with dinner scheduled for 7 p.m. and the program for the evening at 7:45.
