“The rich traditions of this concert continue this year with candles and beautiful sacred music performed by Stetson’s choirs, brass, pipe organ, and members of the chamber orchestra,” said Dr. Timothy Peter, director of choral activities at Stetson University. “It is an honor to work with Stetson students and faculty in producing this musical experience through which we share the message of joy and peace with all who attend.”
Performances on Thursday and Friday begin at 7:30 p.m. There will be two performances on Saturday: one at 5 p.m., and another at 8 p.m. The 2014 Christmas Candlelight Concert repertoire includes works by Bach, Handel, Vaughan Williams, in addition to Christmas music from around the world and traditional Christmas carols. The concerts will feature over 180 musicians including the Stetson University Concert Choir, the Stetson Women’s Chorale and the Stetson Men. The concert is conducted by Dr. Peter and Dr. Andrew Larson.
