Jan. 23 – Speaker Series – 2^nd Annual Civil Rights Speaker Series: 1963 Children’s Crusade: Janice Kelsey, 7-8:30 p.m., Stetson Room, Carlton Union Building, 131 E. Minnesota Ave. Sponsored by Stetson’s Cross-Cultural Center and Stetson Education Department. Moderated by College of Law Professor Bob Bickel. Jan. 24 – Art Reception opening two art exhibitions at Hand Art Center: Oscar Bluemner: The Language of Trees (Jan. 24-May 5); Modern Movements: Selections from the Brenau University Art Collection (Jan. 24-Feb. 27). Feb. 20-23 – Theatre – Vinegar Tom. This play is set in 17^th century England and reveals the darker side of human nature when a man, recently spurned by a woman, seeks retaliation by accusing her of being a witch. Women in this small town must ban together as witch hysteria takes hold. 8 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. Sunday at 3 p.m. Located at Stetson’s 2^nd Stage Theatre in the Museum of Art, 600 N. March 28 – Music Presentation – Jacareˊ Brazil, a music ensemble from University of Florida School of Music, devoted to Brazil’s rich musical heritage. Founded by 1990 by Larry Crook, and with the addition of Welson Tremura as co-director in 2002, the group has become the premiere ensemble of its kind in the U.S. 7-8:30 p.m., Lee Chapel, inside Elizabeth Hall, 421 N.
