This year, Homecoming is scheduled during the same weekend as several Veterans’ Day celebrations, so several events are being planned to honor those Veterans’ in attendance, including a large turnout by our very own ROTC alumni. Friday, Nov. 8
5:45 a.m. – ROTC Fun Run with Cadets: meet at Cummings Gymnasium.  – Meet the current ROTC Cadets behind Cummings Gym for this run around campus. They promise to take it easy on our alumni!

5 p.m. – ROTC Reunion Icebreaker: Airport Restaurant and Gin Mill, 1129 Flight Line Blvd.

Saturday, Nov. 9
10 a.m. – Volusia County Veterans’ Day Parade: Downtown DeLand. – Honor those who have served our nation at this heartwarming annual parade. The parade kicks off with a vintage military aircraft flyover. It then features veterans of all branches of service, as well as military vehicles, marching bands and patriotic floats on Woodland Blvd.

7:30 p.m. – ROTC Alumni & Cadet Open House: Meadows Alumni House, 217 East Michigan Ave.

Sunday, Nov. 10
9 a.m. – ROTC Farewell Breakfast: Perkins Restaurant, 1405 N. Woodland Blvd.

Over 10 Class Reunions Planned!

If there is any indicator as to how big Homecoming 2013 will be, it’s the fact that 10 classes are planning reunions for the weekend, in comparison to the two classes that celebrated last year. Those classes celebrating reunions with events during Homecoming 2013 are: 1958, 1963, 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 2003 and 2008.

The Class of 1963 will be celebrating their 50^th Reunion by having a reception on Friday evening and then a dinner on Saturday evening where they will receive their half-century diploma and pin.
