Career Professionals honor Kazmarek, Marcus
The Florida Career Professionals Association (FCPA) honored two members of Stetson University during its annual conference in June in Orlando. Robin Kazmarek, associate director of Career Development, was presented the 2013 Brownlee Leadership Award for her contribution and support of the Association, and Mark Marcus was honored with the Student of the Year Award for 2013.
The Brownlee Leadership Award was established by FCPA in recognition of John T. Brownlee’s contribution and tireless efforts on behalf of the organization. Kazmarek’s recognition marks the first time in its 26-year history that a member of Stetson University has won the award.
“She has been an invaluable part of the Association,” said Joseph Protopapa, executive director of Career Development and Academic Advising. “Robin volunteers to manage the registration activities for the annual conference and serves as a member of the Association’s board of directors,” he said.
Marcus, a junior accounting student at Stetson, was nominated by John Sheehy, coordinator of Career Development. “I nominated Mark for his academic excellence, ability to overcome obstacles, career decision-making and personal drive to accomplish his career-related goals,” said Sheehy. Marcus is currently participating in the Siemens Energy 2013 Accounting Internship Program and plans to graduate in 2014.
