Dr. Attila de Souza Leao Andrade, Jr., visiting professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, will speak at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, in Rinker Auditorium, inside the Lynn Business Center, 345 N. Woodland Blvd., on Stetson’s DeLand campus. This event, which is open to the public, free of charge, is co-sponsored by Stetson University, the University of Florida Center for Latin American Studies and the Volusia County Sister Cities Association.

A graduate of Yale Law School, Andrade is the author of 20 published books in Brazil and abroad, including his Guidelines on Brazil’s Foreign Investment Law. He is a senior attorney at the law offices of Attila de Souza Leao Andrade Jr., in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This law firm specializes in the practice of international law, business and corporate law taxation and international tax planning. Stetson’s Latin American Studies program will be offering a Studies Abroad Program in Brazil this summer. The summer program, open to students already familiar with Spanish, will give students the chance to learn Portuguese in Brazil. It will involve a home-stay with a Brazilian family, numerous excursions around the country and several days exploring the Mata Atlantica, a forest with extraordinary biodiversity.
