The Office of Public Relations and Communications subscribes to a daily service dedicated to linking reporters quickly and conveniently with expert sources. We monitor and respond to a daily feed of opportunities by offering corresponding expertise within the university. We also have an online Expert Guide often used by local media to locate experts. I am going to be interviewed and would like to receive Media Training. Where can I get it?

How can I send an announcement to the campus community?
The Office of Public Relations and Communications sends out one Stetson-Today group e-mail, four afternoons a week, Monday through Thursday, about policies, opportunities or events directly related to campus, with a definite Stetson sponsorship or connection, and relevant to faculty, staff and/or student groups. Messages regarding non-Stetson events and personal messages cannot be sent. Each announcement must be approved by a Dean or Vice President, who then forwards it to Public Relations with his or her approval. Only members of the Stetson University community may submit announcements through Stetson-Today.
To send an announcement, go to the home page of the Intranet.
- At the bottom of the home page under ANNOUNCEMENTS, click Add Announcement.
- Complete the Stetson Today Announcement Form, completing all required fields and selecting the appropriate Campus Sponsor for your department, organization or event.
- When you are finished, click Submit Request.
- Your e-mail request will be forwarded to the appropriate Vice President or Dean for approval. (If this is a rush, you should contact him or her directly to let them know that it's coming.)
- The appropriate Dean or Vice President then forwards the e-mail with the approval to marcomm@stetson.edu.
- Upon receipt of the approved announcement, the PR office will edit and distribute the announcement based on the guidelines listed below.
The PR office must receive the approved announcement by noon the business day prior to your chosen announcement date, so plan ahead and submit your request allowing sufficient time to complete the above process. Announcements will not be sent on Fridays, so weekend events must be received by noon on Wednesday in order to run on Thursday. Approved announcements will run only once, and then be posted to the Intranet.
How do I post my event Stetson University Calendar of Events?
Go to the home page of the Intranet at www.stetson.edu, and click on Add Event in the lower right corner under CALENDAR EVENTS. Complete the Event Listing Request Form and click SUBMIT. Your request will be forwarded to the moderator of the appropriate calendar, and your event will be posted to the calendar upon their approval. Only members of the Stetson University community are permitted to post events to this calendar. The Campus Calendar is maintained by Media Services. Contact them at (386) 822-7182 with any questions.
Can I have my event listed on a calendar that is easily accessible to the public?
If your department or organization is hosting a lecture, concert, panel discussion, art show, play or film that is open to the public, get the word out to the local community by posting it on the Public Relations and Communications Office's special online Public Lectures, etc. calendar. To submit an event to this calendar, send an e-mail to stetsonpr@stetson.edu providing the following information:
- Date of event
- Type of event (lecture, concert, art exhibit, theatre production, etc.)
- Time of event
- Location
- A brief description of the event, including the name of the performer(s), a brief phrase describing them, and the topic or title of the event
- Admission price, if any
- Name and phone number of contact person
The Office of Public Relations and Communications will also submit your information to other off-campus calendars as appropriate.
PLEASE NOTE: Submitting your event to this calendar does not constitute approval for Cultural Events credit. If you wish your event to be approved for Cultural Events credit, contact the office of the appropriate Dean.

Who can I get to photograph my event?
The Office of Public Relations and Communications can fill many of the photography needs on campus, or will put you in touch with a local professional photographer.
