Hatterpalooza Goes EDM: 3LAU and heRobust

April 03, 2014

3LAU-HatterPaloozaBigger than any previous year, Hatterpalooza has been completely revamped for 2014. The student body spoke and Hatter Productions, Stetson’s programming board, listened. On April 12, we’ll be bringing Electronic Dance Music (EDM) star, 3LAU, pictured, (pronounced “Blau”), and rising DJ, heRobust.

Ticketing

Students will have an opportunity to receive up to two free tickets (limited supply) before the show opens to the general public. Hatter Productions will be distributing tickets at the Stetson Green between noon to 2 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., every day through Friday, April 4. Recent concerts featuring 3LAU in downtown Orlando were very popular, and we highly recommend picking up tickets before the public can buy the show out. Once they’re gone, they’re gone! After April 4, students will have to buy tickets with the rest of the general public.

*Must have student ID to pick up tickets.

Faculty, staff, and all other audiences must purchase tickets online at Stetson.edu/hatterpalooza. The ticket cost is $10.

The Artist

Justin Blau, DJ 3LAU (http://www.3lau.com/home), is a 23 year old progressive house producer who began playing music at an early age. He taught himself to play the piano at age five, and eventually took up guitar and drums.

3LAU gained recognition in the electronic music world in 2011 with his two bootlegs, “Girls Who Save the World” and “All Night Long.” He also won a remix competition for his remix of Tiesto’s “Work Hard, Play Hard.” He is known for his melodic take on dance music and live sets that incorporate sampling.

3LAU works closely with the non-profit organization Pencils of Promise, which raises money to build schools in developing countries. Using proceeds from his remix “Back to New,” 3LAU raised $25,000 for Pencils of Promise and helped to build Justo Rufino Primary School in Guatemala. 3LAU’s most recent tour raised over $10,000 to contribute toward building a second school. In January 2014, 3LAU partnered with EDM lifestyle brand, Electric Family, to produce a collaboration bracelet for which 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Pencils of Promise.
