- Renee Lawless has landed a role on the new television series “The Haves and Have Nots,” according to the May 28 Florida Times Union. The series airs on the Oprah Winfrey Network (Tuesday night, 9 p.m.). Lawless described the show, set in Savannah, Ga., as something akin to “‘Downton Abbey’ meets ‘The Help.’” Lawless plays Katheryn Cryer, the matriarch of a dysfunctional, old-money family.
- Bill Newsome in interviewed on TestofFaith.com regarding his research in neurobiology and visual perception. Newsome was most recently in the news as one of two researchers chosen to lead an initiative to map the human brain.
- Alex Buelow is competing in the U.S. Women’s Open (golf) qualifier at Bear Lakes in West Palm Beach, according to the May 28 Daytona Beach News-Journal.

- According to the Business Observer, Law alumna Suzanne Boy has received the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
- Steve Coleman was the featured speaker at his high school’s athletic banquet where he encouraged student athletes to take advantage of their opportunity to get a college education. Coleman played basketball for Stetson, according to the Newberry Observer.
