“The individual experiences our children have had at Stetson, including their “study abroad” programs, have given them a global perspective other universities may lack. The small community experience DeLand, Fla., offers accentuates the close personal academic relationships developed among the faculty and student body. All students in the classes are known personally by the professor; this enhances individual expectation and performance, and allows each student to succeed accordingly … As parents, our most valuable possession will always be our children. Having said that, the investment (personally, financially and morally) in Stetson is money and time well spent.”
Michael, ’74, and Stephanie Fronk
DeLand, Florida
Stetson University Chaplain Michael Fronk and his wife, Stephanie, are the parents of Stetson alumni Christopher Fronk, ’03, and Jamie Topelski, ’03. Christopher is currently a district sales representative in the Home Depot division for Newell-Rubbermaid in Austin, Texas. Jamie is an area sales representative for U.S. Foods in Heathrow, Fla.
“As the parents of two former student-athletes, we enjoyed the four years that our boys lived in a safe, yet challenging environment. Stetson’s emphasis on integrating academics and human values has prepared our boys to emerge as informed men who are equipped to enter the global community.”
Scott Bruin, '75 Houston, Texas
Scott Bruin is a Stetson alumnus and father of Stetson sophomore Charlie Bruin. Charlie is a business major in the School of Business Administration.
“A Stetson education is among the best in Florida and perhaps the country because of its favorable location, top quality in academics and the personal values system. Stetson University is recognized for turning out well-rounded students who are achievers professionally and as leaders in their communities … I believe it is unusual to find a school of such academic stature and breadth, diversity and social opportunity in a relatively compact setting. Because of the size of the school, students and parents have an opportunity to connect with the university in a more in-depth way than at larger institutions. This is particularly true with regard to personal contact with faculty and administration.”
