Visit Stetson - DeLand Campus

It's easy and fun to visit Stetson University! We provide information sessions and campus tours Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and on designated Saturdays at 9 a.m. during the academic year.


Daily Tours

The Office of Admissions offers information sessions followed by campus tours Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and on designated Saturdays at 10 a.m. during the year. In our 30-minute information session, you will learn about the application process and student financial planning; followed by a 90-minute walking campus tour through our academic buildings, first-year residential hall option, student union space, and library.

Please allow at least two hours for your visit on campus.

Open Houses

Come spend a day with us! Our open houses allow you to get an in-depth look at Stetson University and all it has to offer. Talk with current Hatters, engage with faculty members, sit in on a sample class, learn about our academic offerings, discover extracurricular activities, and take a tour with an Ambassador.

New Hatter Fast Track Days

Stetson University invites you to our special days on campus just for our accepted and deposited students. Our New Hatter Fast Track Days are designed to help you jumpstart your Stetson experience. These days are held throughout the summer and are the perfect chance for you to make connections with departments on campus as well as with other students all while taking care of any open business prior to move-in day. New Hatter Fast Track Days are held from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Students and families are encouraged to spend the day on campus for a day full of fun (and business).

Shadow Stetson Days

Be a Hatter for a day! Open to accepted students, Shadow Stetson Days offered Monday through Wednesday. You will be able to shadow classes in your intended school or college, have lunch with current students, meet with a professor, take a guided campus tour, and end the day with your admissions recruiter. Students can also sign up for overnight visits Monday or Tuesday evening to stay in the residential halls with a current student, with classes the following day.

Shadow Stetson Visits are for accepted students only. Parents and family are invited to participate in the campus tour and meeting with an admissions recruiter. We also encourage you to explore Historic Downtown DeLand.

Reservations must be made at least two weeks before your intended visit date.

Transfer Tours

The Office of Admissions offers a brief information session tailored to Transfer students followed by a campus tour on select Fridays at 9:30 a.m. You will learn about the Transfer application process, student financial planning, see campus, and meet a current student who transferred to Stetson.

Please allow at least two hours for your visit on campus.

Note: Stetson University defines a transfer student as someone who has already graduated high school and has taken college credits post-graduation.

Stetson "Hi-Notes" Visits

"Hi-Notes" visits provide a shadow experience for prospective music students with an in-depth look at Stetson University and the School of Music. You'll be able to follow another student to classes, participate in ensembles, have lunch with current students, and meet with a professor in your talent area if desired. Reservations must be made at least two weeks before your intended visit date.

Monday- voice (preferred), brass, piano, organ, percussion, string, woodwind

Tuesday- voice, brass, woodwind

Wednesday- voice, brass, woodwind, string

Thursday- voice, brass, woodwind, string

School of Music Auditions

Audition to be a member of the School of Music at Stetson University at one of our audition dates listed. We additionally encourage you to take a closer look into our music program through a "Hi Notes" music visit.

Group Visits

Group tours are offered by appointment for high school students only. Group tour appointments must be made a minimum of one month in advance, and are not offered on weekends or during peak periods.

Travel Scholarship

Visiting from out-of-state? Out-of-state students who are accepted and attend an official admissions visit on or before Hatter Saturday, April 8, 2017, can receive a one-time $1,000 travel scholarship awarded as a part of their financial aid package at Stetson. Eligible in-state students who are accepted and visit by Hatter Saturday may also qualify if they file a FAFSA and submit an essay of no more than 250 words on the status page by Hatter Saturday. The essay should address why the student requires a travel scholarship.

Explore Historic Downtown DeLand

Founded in 1976, DeLand has been nicknamed the Athens of Florida, a cultural center with six museums and the historic Athens Theater. Ten minutes away from beautiful natural springs makes DeLand a perfect location for spotting manatees, soaking up Florida rays, or enjoying homemade pancakes at The Old Spanish Sugar Mill and Griddle House. DeLand hosts a variety of events throughout the calendar year. We encourage you to see what's happening downtown before or after your visit to campus
