Winter College Prep Camp Information
Registration
Registration for the Winter College Prep Camp will take place on Thursday, December 30 between 5:00pm and 6:00pmat the University Inn Hotel (644 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand, FL 32720).
Players that need to make special arrangements for registration must contact Assistant Camp Director Eric Dutt.
Closing Ceremonies/Check-out
Closing ceremonies for theWinter College Prep Campwill take place at the Stetson SoccerComplex at 11:30am on Sunday, January 2. Following the closing ceremonies, all commuting campers will be released. The residential campers will return to their hotel room to gather their belongings for checkout.
Lodging
Residential campers will be housed in air-conditionedroomsat the University Inn, located directly across the street from campus. Each room will be double occupancy with counselors/chaperones located throughout the building. As this is a hotel, all towels, linens, and pillows willbe provided. Each room also has a tv and mini-refrigerator. Roommate requests are located on the camp application. The requests will be reviewed by the camp staff and official roommate assignments will be available at camp registration.
Meals
The cost of meals is included in the camp registration fee. Residential campers will receive breakfast, lunch and dinner. Commuting campers will receive lunch and dinner (depending on week of camp). Meals will becateredin from local restaurants and served daily at the University Inn.
Transportation
Once the players arrive for check-in, all activities will take place within walking distance. Players that drive themselves to the camp must turn their car keys into Assistant Camp Director, Eric Dutt at registration. Upon check-out, the car keys will be returned. Players are not allowed to leave the Stetson campus under any circumstance.
Weather
While this camp takes place in Florida, please know that the weather can be unpredictable at times. The average high temperature in thewinter in Deland is around75 degrees. However, the weather can be unpredictable at times (rain, thunderstorms, night games). Players should pack clothes accordingly.
Camp T-Shirt
Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt with their registration fee. The camp t-shirt will be available for pick-up at registration.
Equipment to Bring
Players should bring with them: a soccer ball, personal items, swim trunks, soccer shoes (new shoes can cause blisters), shoes to play indoor soccer, socks, shorts, shirts, etc. Coin operated washers/dryers are available. Please do not bring jewelry or other valuables. The academy is not responsible for lost articles.
Camp Store
The camp store will be located at theUniversity Innand will be openbefore and after each session. The camp store will contain sports drinks, water, and snacks. Players may also purchase pizza and smoothies each night by ordering it at the camp store.
Refund Policy
If a camper is unable to attend camp, a refund less a NON-REFUNDABLE $100 service charge will be returned after the last camp session. Cancellations must be made 7 days priorto the first day of campto be eligible for a refund.
Medical Staff
An athletic trainer will be present at all academy functions. If something needing greater attention should arise, Florida Hospital DeLand is less than 10 minutes away. Please be assured that we make every effort to ensure the health and safety of our athletes. Each Registrant must have the Guardian Statement of Approval form completed and notarized in order to participate.
***Guardian Statement of Approval***
All players must have a signed and notarized copy of the Statement of Approval Form.
The form must be completed, brought to the camp and turned in at registration. Players will not be allowed to participate until this form is completed.
***Release of Liability Form***
The Release of Liability form must be completed and turned in at the camp registration. This form does NOT need to be notarized but must be signed by a witness. Those campers that are 18 years of age or older may sign this form themselves. Any camper that does not have this form filled out will not be allowed to participate.
