Staff Accomplishments/Highlights

Tammy Briant, J.D., '06, College of Law assistant dean for Student Affairs, was named to the Business Observer's "40 Under 40" list highlighting the brightest young stars of the business community on the Gulf Coast in October 2016.

Tammy Briant, J.D., '06, College of Law assistant dean for Student Affairs, received the Hillsborough County Bar Association Outstanding Young Lawyer Award at the Hillsborough Bar Diversity Luncheon in January 2017.

Larry R. Correll-Hughes, Ph.D., assistant vice president for Campus Life and Student Success and executive director of Residential Living and Learning, received the Mid-Level Professional Award from the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA) for exemplary service to the association and the student affairs profession in November 2016.

Lizzie Dement, assistant director of Leadership Development, and Paula Hentz, director of International Learning, presented "Embedding Global Citizenship into Student Leadership Development," in October 2016, at the AAC&U Global Learning and the College Curriculum Conference in Denver, Colorado.

Lizzie Dement, assistant director of Leadership Development, presented "Developing Student Leaders to be a Catalyst for Growth," in December 2016, at the NASPA (Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education) Leadership Educators Institute in Long Beach, California.

Juan D. Escobar, Residence Life coordinator, presented "Work-Life Balance: Myths Debunked," in January 2017, at the Florida Resident Assistant Conference in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Melena Postolowski, assistant director of Career and Professional Development, received the Champion of Diversity Award, in December 2016, at the SoACE (Southern Association of Colleges and Employers) Annual Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Colleen Vanderlip, director of Wellness and Recreation, presented "Know Your Power - Sexual Assault Prevention and Education," in October 2016, at the NASPA (Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education) Florida Conference in Miami, Florida.

Student Accomplishments/Highlights

Steven Ersing, class of 2018, was invited and officiated the National Intramural Recreation Sports Association 2016 Regional Flag Football Championship in November 2016, at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Michelle Fitzgibbons, class of 2018, and Alyssa Morley, class of 2018, won first place in the NASPA (Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education) Florida Undergraduate Student Case Study Competition. They did so well they were ranked against graduate students, taking second place in that category.
