May 2017 Academic Affairs, B3

B3, Emphasize Learning in Communities: Residential, Local, Global and Virtual:

Dr. Larry Correll-Hughes, Executive Director of Residential Education continues to develop revised operational processes and program plans. A new house-based theme housing initiative was launched for Fall 2016: Community Catalyst Houses. Eight proposals were submitted by students and five were chosen: Sustaining Green Living, World Kitchen, Intersections of Faith, Futures in Healthcare, and Global Learning. Faculty Advisors, house projects, and community service commitments are being identified for these new living-learning communities by the students. Planning has been shifted for a Fall 2017 launch for a Discovery program-based living-learning community to allow for fuller development and marketing of the program.
