Event Series

Below are descriptions of the event series and day-long events that are a part of the Many Voices, One Stetson. Individual events from the series/days are shown in the Upcoming Event section above.

Values Day

Values Day is an annual tradition established by Stetson University's eighth president, H. Douglas Lee. Every year, Stetson University celebrates Values Day in the month of September. Values Day is a day dedicated to the university's commitment to its core values – personal growth, intellectual development and global citizenship.

Values Day will be celebrated on the DeLand campus on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.

Social Justice Lecture Series

In fall 2013, Stetson University launched a new lecture series focused on social justice to explore issues central to our mission and values - those who speak to human freedom, personal and social responsibility, the connections we have with each other and the obligations that flow from our shared humanity.

"Big Questions" Dialogue Series

Big questions are different than hard questions. Hard questions rely on expertise and lead to debates. Big questions rely on wisdom and experience. They lead to conversations. Big questions are questions that matter to everyone and that everyone can answer. Sponsored by Interfaith Initiatives, the "Big Questions" Dialogue Series launched in spring 2015 to create space for the dialogue around these important questions.

Faculty Community Learning Day

The annual Faculty Learning Community Day is held on the Friday before the start of the spring semester. This is a day of reflection and discussion with our colleagues about big issues that impact our university mission and learning community.

Past Events

Sharing Excellence Colloquium

Sharing Excellence Colloquium on Teaching and Learning is a celebration of teaching and learning excellence. We celebrate ideas at all stages of development and across all facets of the teacher-scholar role as we strive to realize Stetson University’s mission of being a “creative community where learning and values meet.” The inaugural colloquium was held in April 2015 and showcased passion for learning that informs the work of faculty and staff.
