Scotland: Semester Abroad Program

The one-thousand-year-old city of Edinburgh is perched dramatically on a series of extinct volcanoes. Its stunning Georgian and Victorian architecture and winding medieval streets earned Edinburgh a place on the United Nations' list of World Heritage Sites, and it is regularly voted one of the world's most desirable places to live. It is home to Edinburgh Castle and some of the best galleries, museums, and restaurants in the UK. Add to this mix world class theatre and a fantastic variety of festivals-from the Book Festival to the Military Tattoo to the Edinburgh Mela-and you have a lively cosmopolitan atmosphere with a distinctly Scottish twist.

Participants in the Stetson Abroad-Edinburgh program attend classes with U.K. students at the University of Edinburgh, one of the U.K.'s best, and can choose from a wide variety of courses.

The International Student Center at the University plans trips and excursions each weekend. Recent excursions have included visits to the Scottish Parliament, the Isle of Arran, and the city of Glasgow. Stetson University provides a stipend for two to three excursions.
