DEL-BER -1 Let's Invent!
Did you know thatLeonardo Davinci drew plans for the first helicopter? Is the Mona Lisa aboy or a girl? These are just some of topics we will learn about inour discovery of Leonardo DaVinci: the scientist, inventor, and
artist. Students will explore the many exceptionalities of DaVinci and
the many revolutionary inventions and major legacies he left behind. So
join us and we will express your ideas through science, art and invention.
(Grades K-2)
DEL-101 Portraits of the Artists for Young Mathematicians
What do Cubism, Pointillism, The Fibonacci Sequence, Picasso, Impressionism, Escher, Tessellations, Monet, Geometry, Frank Lloyd Wright, and you have in common? Each in a unique way celebrates the
relationship between art and math! Come discover the artist within you as you learn from the masters and stretch your minds with math challenges! We'll explore the works of some of the most famous artists in all of history. You'll discover the art of math (or math as art) through their eyes, their world, their creations….and yours!
(Grades 3-5)
DEL-102 Flash Fiction
This fiction writing seminar will explore the principles of good story telling, specific writing techniques including moment-by-moment narration, dialogue, and description. Students will get a chance to create and share short fiction, and to get feedback from both peers and the instructor who is the author of the book Writing Extraordinary Essays. The week will culminate with a finished novella that will be published.
(Grades 4-12)
DEL-103 HaHaHa, HoHoHo, and a Couple of TraLaLas
This class will explore the hard work of comedy. Hard work?!? Comedy?!? Yep, it isn't easy being funny- we'll look at what words and actions will make people laugh and learn how to craft our routines by studying the comedy routines of master comedians and practicing timing, delivery, and performance to get people to laugh! Come learn how to tickle a funny bone!

DEL-104 Ye Olde Medieval Faire
Come hither, my lads! A goodly length in time past, 'tis thee most splendid of times. I bid you to step in to a world of enhancement! Come learn about a time when knights fought bravely for their nobles, when peasants endured the dreaded feudal life for protection, and when 'ring around the rosy, pocket full of poesy' meant something different. From the fall
of the Romans to the voice of Shakespeare, we'll delve into a full week of
medieval excitement! Verily, it is so, thy will have a splendid time discussing the Middle Ages! Fare thee well, my good man; adieu,
my good ladies! I will see you anon.

DEL-105 Forensic Science - CSI: DeLand
What is Forensic Science? What evidence does an investigator utilize to
solve a crime? Come and explore the science behind Fingerprinting, Footwear Analysis, Handwriting Analysis, Hair and Fiber Analysis, Blood Spatter Analysis, Tool Mark Examination, Profiling and Crime Scene Processing. Join us for a spine-tingling week of Crime Scene Investigation. Let's crack the case and Help Arrest The Suspects!

DEL-BER-2 Magic Tree House Adventures – The American Revolution
Grab your backpacks and notebooks and join us for a fun filled week as we climb into the mysterious tree house of Frog Creek, PA. We will be transported back in time with Jack and Annie as we explore one of the most important events in our nation's history! Don't let this be an ordinary old summer. Come and discover what life was like in the colonial times and find out why we need a government! The fate of the country rests in their hands.

DEL-201 Comic Strip Studio
Whether you're a skilled artist or a consummate doodler, you, too, can become a cartoonist. All you need is your imagination. What's your favorite cartoon? Zits? Peanuts? Calvin and Hobbes? This course will introduce you to techniques used by professional cartoonists to bring characters and ideas to life on the Sunday comics' page. We'll supply the materials and instruction, you'll supply the imagination. Taught by the creator of the Mr. Fitz comic strip, you'll enjoy a unique opportunity to learn cartooning from a professional cartoonist.

DEL-202 Time to Sign
Can you ask a question by raising your eyebrows, widening your eyes, and tilting your body forward and using your hands? You can with American Sign Language! American Sign Language (ASL) is a complete, complex language that employs signs made by moving the hands combined with facial expressions and postures of the body. It is the primary language of many North Americans who are Deaf and is one of several communication options used by people who are hard-of-hearing. This in-depth course introduces students to the fundamentals of American Sign Language (ASL).
ASL history, vocabulary, grammar, and cultural issues.

DEL - 203 Ultra Improv
Attention all Drama Queens, Kings, and other members of the Court. Join us to experience a week filled with improvisation, monologues, theatre games, skits, and a brief exploration of the history of drama. We'll even include a segment on auditioning. Register now for this challenging course and "break a leg!"

DEL-204 Harry Potter Science Magic
Hop on the Hogwarts Express! Have you ever thought about being a
student at a school similar to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Then come immerse yourself in the fictional world of Harry Potter. Discover the magic as we explore the world of the famous wizard in classes such as
Arithmancy, Astronomy, Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Divination, Herbology, History of Magic, Potions, and
Transfiguration. Once students are sorted into their houses they will work together on cooperative learning projects and experiments, as well as earning house points. Aspiring witches, wizards and warlocks welcome. Leave the Muggle world behind and meet me at Platform 9 3/4.

DEL-205 Discovering Mathematics Through Technology
Join us in this week long session and investigate the wonderful world of mathematics through the lens of technology. You will learn how to work the magic of the TI 84 calculator while graphing functions, solving equations, simulating probabilities, exploring linear programming, even playing around with Geometry! Speaking of Geometry, the 2nd part of the session will be devoted to discovery through Geometer's SketchPad building neat things like a Ferris wheel and Kaleidoscope by performing translations. Other projects to be undertaken will include art and animation, real world modeling, maybe even some calculus!

CEL- 101 ANCIENT AND LOST CIVILIZATIONS
What can be learned by studying the past? Why are we fascinated by ancient cultures? How do they still impact our world?
Spend a week time traveling as we come face-to-face with the ancient people. Travel to Easter Island, meet the tribes of Maori in New Zealand, Australia's Aboriginals, and examine the Celtic culture. Explore Rome, Greece, China, South America, and India. We'll even visit the Eskimos and Inuits of Alaska. The past is vital to interpreting the present and planning for the future. You'll love the interdisciplinary approach to our week of travel. All you will need to bring with you is your curiosity!

CEL- 102 PERCY JACKSON'S CAMP HALF-BLOOD
Welcome to the training program for young demi-gods. Do you want to be like Percy Jackson and have the abilities of one of the Greek Gods? From Greek Speak to "Archery", Team Spirit to the "Javelin" throw, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of the skills learned throughout the week at our Greek Games. VEN – 101 Tessering Through A Wrinkle in Time
Journey through space and time to learn about mathematics tricks and scientific phenomena! Participants in this astronomically-exciting five-day experience will thoroughly analyze Madeleine L'Engle's Newberry Award-winning novel as we travel the galaxies and discover all shapes, sizes, and dimensions of geometry; a plethora of math and science concepts inspired by Galileo, Einstein, Curie, and Hawking; an introduction to basic physics concepts and other creative opportunities mused within!

VEN-102 A Walk They Will Never Forget: The "Lost Boys" of Sudan
Have you ever wanted to make a difference in the lives of people who need it? Join us to take a walk with the "Lost Boys" of Sudan to discover one hopeful message: even in a troubled country, determined survivors can truly find what they are hoping for. Join us to delve into the life changing story of these young men, their country, the Sudanese Civil War, what it means to be a refugee, and what we can do to make a change.
Don't just read about it, do something about it! Come and take the walk!
