Florida’s
Natural Communities is located in the Environmental Room in the southern wing
of the museum. Here, guests will see numerous exhibits on Florida’s
ecosystems as well as fossils and minerals outlining Florida’s
geological history. The new ecosystems feature examples of Inshore Marine,
Temperate Hardwood, CypressSwamps,
and Highpine Grasslands. Some of the examples these include: Opalized Mud,
Fossilized Worm Tunnels and clams, Calcite on limestone, Fossilized Mastodon
and Sharks’ teeth.
