Antonio Golan

Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication and Media Studies

Antonio Golan is a Galician-American from New York City, and his research centers primarily on the democratization of the Spanish State. In particular, Golan is interested in the ways in which nationalism and capitalism are naturalized within Spanish modernization narratives, as well as how this delineates what is possible and impossible insofar as social change. Though Golan's research subject is located abroad, it is nonetheless closely related to issues here in the United States. In the classroom, Golan attempts to explore the role of communication within our political culture and cultivate a space for civic engagement.
