The Ethical Decision Making Committee

1. The Dean of the College appoints at least 5 faculty members to the Committee to serve three-year terms (staggered). One of the five must be from the Department of Philosophy and one from the Department of Religious Studies.

2. The Ethical Decision-MakingCommittee is responsible for reviewing the current E-course menu with the aim of making sure that each course on this menu conforms to the criteria for an E-designation.

3. The Ethical Decision-Making Committee will maintain and keep current an E-course web page on the college Intranet. This page will include the current E-course menu, a statement of the criteria and procedures for acquiring an E-designation for a course, an online form requesting an E-designation for a course, and the current EDM Committee members.

4. The Ethical Decision-Making Committee will be responsible for approving requests for E-designations.

5. Upon approval of a request for an E-designation, the EDMCommittee Chair will pass this information on to the College Curriculum Committee for its approval. The Curriculum Committee will then include such approvals in its report to the general A & S Faculty.

6. The Ethical Decision-Making Committee will be responsible for keeping the web page current.
