Community-Engaged Learning

Community-engaged learning is a pedagogical tool used by faculty to help students apply theoretical knowledge to a real-world problem with the goal of building a better understanding of the theory while simultaneously solving the engaged problem.

Community-Based Research

Community-based research allows students to work with faculty and partners on specific research projects that develop the student's research and analytical skills while creating knowledge that solves meaningful challenges in the community. Students' community-based research projects are often shared through public forums and through the annual Stetson Showcase of undergraduate research. Particularly strong research can be published in journals or other academic mediums.
