Savannah-Jane Griffin, Director of Community Engagement
Savannah-Jane Griffin is the Associate Director of Community Engagement at Stetson University. Savannah-Jane has worked at Stetson for the past four years focusing on building relationships with DeLand's community partners, educating students and faculty on the importance of community engagement, and enhancing a number of community engagement programs on Stetson's campus. In her role as Associate Director, Savannah-Jane provides long-term leadership and strategic planning for Stetson's community engagement areas. Savannah-Jane graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor's in Business Management in 2007 and a Master's in Business Administration in 2008. She served as the lead administrator for hosting the 2012 IMPACT conference at Stetson and has served as the chair of the IMPACT Planning Committee.
Kevin Winchell, Assistant Director of Community Engagement
Kevin Winchell is the Assistant Director of Community Engagement at Stetson University. Kevin is responsible for creating and leading civic engagement efforts between the campus and community, supervising the CCE's AmeriCorps VISTA staff, and advising many community engagement programs on Stetson's campus. Kevin graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor's of Arts degree (Philosophy) and Bachelor's of Science degree (Political Science) in 2007, and is completing his Master's of Business Administration. Kevin founded and is the director of the annual Politics 101 conference, a free, one-day crash-course on political campaigning open to all community members that is hosted by Stetson University each Fall. Outside of Stetson, Kevin is a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Volusia/Flagler Counties.
Heather Hamilton, AmeriCorps VISTA, Community Organizer Coordinator
Heather Hamilton is an AmeriCorps VISTA member serving as the Community Organizer Coordinator at Stetson University. Heather is responsible for creating and sustaining student partnerships with community partners, supervising and mentoring Stetson student leaders, planning service days and other major events, and enhancing community engagement activity in the Stetson community. Heather graduated from Wingate University in North Carolina with a Bachelor's degree in Human Services in 2012 where she directed many service events, built relationships with community partners, and coordinated student community engagement activities.
Michael Zirkel, AmeriCorps VISTA, Bonner Program Coordinator
Michael is an AmeriCorps VISTA member serving as the Bonner Program Coordinator at Stetson University. Michael is responsible for the long-term service placements of 70 Bonner students and mentoring the student leaders who provide additional leadership to the Bonner Program. Michael graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor's degree in Social Science with a primary in Anthropology and a Secondary in Sociology in addition to a double minor of Geography and Environmental Science in May of 2013. Michael was a member of the Bonner Program as an undergraduate, and served as the Senior Intern for the 2012-2013 school year.
