International Business
Program Website
Does working overseas appeal to you? Are you a leader comfortable with making decisions? Stetson's International Business program within the Management Departmentof the School of Business Administration prepares students for leadership and managerial roles in companies working across national borders. Developing students' ability to think creatively, analytically, and ethically in dynamic global environments is the program's goal.
Innovative experiential learning methods are a hallmark of the department. Faculty members use problem-solving projects, case studies, team exercises, class discussions, and contemporary training methods so students can learn to succeed in the face of cross-cultural management challenges.
Faculty
Although the International Business program is part of the Management Department, its inter-disciplinary nature includes faculty from many different academic areas.
- Carolyn B. Mueller, Ph.D., University of South Carolina; international and strategic management, cross-cultural management, short-term study abroad programs
Special Features
International Business majors prepare for careers with firms doing business across national borders. Students must achieve proficiency in a second language, cultural proficiency in an international market area, and technical competence in international business skills. Faculty in the Management, Marketing, Finance, Political Science, History, and Modern Languages departments combine forces to offer this interdisciplinary major. Students must either study or do an internship in a country where they can use the foreign language they have learned. Working with Stetson's Center for International Education's Study Abroad Program, they may study in France, Germany, Mexico, Russia, or Spain.
Course Information
