Program Website

In today's globally competitive world, knowledge of a foreign language greatly enhances a student's position in the job market in many career areas, from business and government to service organizations and education. Studying a language other than English, and the cultures and literatures of the people who speak that language, can not only give you personal satisfaction, but much more.

Stetson University students may major in French, Spanish, or German. Other possibilities include the double major if you want to combine a language major with another subject area. Students may also minor in French.

Refer to Department of Modern Languages and Literatures for more information.

Course Information

A total of 11 units is required for a French major at Stetson, in addition to the general education requirements for the College of Arts and Sciences.
