Discovery Program

Students are encouraged to begin college with their minds open to the possibilities available to them through their academic major, career path and life's passion. Stetson University's Discovery Program is designed to help students identify their skills and passions, and the best links to choice of an academic study and career path.

The Discovery Program offers students a multi-faceted program for informing, advising and encouraging them to make their university experience as valuable and as meaningful as possible. Working closely with students, specially designated faculty advisors help to inform students about the university's academic programs and also offer information to help prepare students for internships, post-graduate study and employment opportunities.

Through a partnership between Career and Professional Development and the Academic Success Center, students participating in the Discovery Program have special opportunities for individual mentoring, workshops, workplace visits and job shadowing. These customized experiences allow students to explore several different careers each semester. The Discovery Program also offers students special programs that encourage informal discussions with faculty and community members about questions of personal, social and global importance.
