The School of Music provides a series of events designed to
enable prospective students to experience the School, its programs, its
faculty, and its students. Contact our Music Admissions Counselor, Tammy
Shistle, for information 386-822-8975, music@stetson.edu.
Hi Notes -
Students are encouraged to spend the day on campus as a music major. You are
assigned a student host, attend classes, attend rehearsals, and experience a
typical day in the life of a Stetson student.
High School Choral Clinic
- Early each fall high school choral students are invited to a choral
festival featuring two renowned choral conductors from around the country.
Typically 650 students attend this 2 day event.
String Institute - Each year
high school string students are invited to campus to spend a day working with
our string faculty, taking lessons, playing in ensemble settings, and working
with our university orchestra.
Piano
Scholars Weekend - Each year high school pianists are invited to
campus to meet and hear professional performing pianists and to compete. The
winners are presented scholarship funds to the School
of Music.
Previous winners are presented in recital, also.
Florida
Bandmasters - Hall of Fame Each year the School
of Music
hosts the induction of two new members into the Florida Bandmasters Hall of
Fame. The Symphony Band presents a concert in honor of the new inductees
featuring their favorite music conducted by friends of the honored guests.
Auditions and campus tours -
Reserve a spot in a campus
tour to coincide with an audition. Schedule
your audition as early as possible to request a scholarship.
