"Where other people keep diaries in which they
record their momentary feelings, etc, Schubert simply kept sheets of music by
him and confided his changing moods to them; and his soul being steeped in
music, he put down notes when another man would resort to words."
-- Robert Schumann, letter to to Friedrich Wieck, 1829; quoted in Gal, The
Musician's World (1965)
The Jenkins
Music Library, a stand-alone music library housed within the School of
Music's Presser Hall, represents Stetson's commitment to housing recordings,
scores, and important music texts in an accessible area for our students and
faculty.
Adjacent to the housing area for scores and
recordings, the Presser Hall computer lab houses 15 G5 imac computers and
listening stations for the many CDs and LPs that are available.
Our full-time music librarian, Jean Wald, manages our
collection and gifts year round.
You can view more information on the library, as well as
class-specific resources HERE.
