... in celebrating Stetson University School of Music
Professor Bobby Adams' distinguished 50-year career
in music education.

2012 marks the 50th year of teaching for Dr. Bobby L. Adams.  He is currently the Director of Bands, Professor of Music Education and Coordinator of Instrumental Music at Stetson University, where he has been teaching since 1987.  Prior to his appointment at Stetson, Adams taught in the public schools of Indiana and Florida for 25 years.  In Florida, Adams was the director of bands at North Fort Myers High School (1968-74), Bayshore High School in Bradenton (1974-79) and Leon High School in Tallahassee (1979-1987).

His dedication and passion for music education is exemplified through his continual commitment to his students.  As a conductor, musician, teacher, colleague, family member and friend, Bobby is admired for his powerful beliefs for teaching young students not only about music, but, about "Being a person."

As Bobby Adams celebrates his 25th year at Stetson University and his 50th year of teaching, we would like to honor him at his Stetson Symphonic Band concert on April 21, 2012, at Stetson University's DeLand campus.

I would like to invite students from his past 50 years of teaching to attend this event to honor Bobby Adams for his continued service to Music Education.
