THE STETSON MEN
Now in their 5th year, the Stetson Men enjoy performing concerts both on the Stetson University campus as well as performances each semester off campus around the state of Florida. The Stetson Men performed with the University of Florida Men's Glee Club and also the Florida State University Men's Chorus in the spring of 2010 as part of a combined Collegiate Men's Glee Concert in Gainesville, FL. The Men perform academic choral music from all stylistic periods and genres, including music by master composers (such as Palestrina, Hassler, J. S. Bach, Handel, Schumann, Brahms and Mendelssohn) as well as contemporary choral pieces, folksongs, spirituals and music traditionally associated with men's singing groups.
Like all of the choral ensembles at Stetson, the Men come from a variety of backgrounds and have bright futures in any number of career paths, including music. Anyone is invited to sit in rehearsals. Please contact the music office 386-822-8950 if you are interested in joining. The brief interview and vocal range check are painless!
