CHOIR BIOGRAPHY

The Choral Union is comprised of Stetson Students and community members. Its primary role is to serve as the University's symphonic chorus, though octavo and a cappella works occasionally complement their repertoire. The Choral Union has performed many times with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and the Stetson University Symphony Orchestra. Repertoire in recent years consists of important oratorio-type works, such as Poulenc'sGloria,Leonard Bernstein'sChichester Psalms,Symphony of Psalmsby Igor Stravinsky, Beethoven'sMass in C Major,the MozartRequiemand other of Mozart's symphonic sacred works, along with settings by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Johannes Brahms. The Choral Union's most recent chorus conductors have been Duncan Couch, Alan Raines, Peter Durow, and Milburn Price.
