Artistic Director Rebecca Mitchell began her career as a performer dancing with the Orlando City Ballet and the Southern Ballet Theatre (now the Orlando Ballet) where she was also an instructor. She has trained with many of the greats of the Kirov and Bolshoi ballet companies including: Luba Gulyaeva, Margarita Zagurskaya, Mikhail Lavrovsky, Nona Jetstovskia, and others. Her students have been accepted into various prestigious programs which include Boston Ballet, Ballet Hispanico, The Nutmeg Ballet, Orlando Ballet, USA IBC Summer Intensive, and Walnut Hill. Rebecca, who is also a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, NY, studied acting under Broadway Producer Marsha Milgram-Dodge and is the Drama teacher at the International Community School in Winter Park, FL. Rebecca is currently teaching Movement classes for Stetson University's School of Music and is delighted to bring her passion for teaching to the Community School of Dance.
