At Stetson University College of Law, we recognize that our students can face a variety of stressors, including academic concerns, personal and relationship challenges, and medical and emotional difficulties. As a visitor to this page, you may know of one of our students who is experiencing these types of concerns, and may be looking for a person to contact who can assist you.
One resource through which you may express concerns about a student is the Student Support and Emergency Team (SSET), a group of senior administrators who meet each week to coordinate student support and assistance. The group includes Associate Dean for Academics Michael Allen, Director for Student Life Tammy Briant, Registrar Felisha McCaster, Chief of Public Safety Don Howard, Director of Academic Success Jeffrey Minneti, and Director of Bar Preparation Services Michael Pierce. SSET works to frame an appropriate response to the situation, including finding the least intrusive, but most effective means, of assisting students and managing the issues presented in accordance with College of Law policies.
If you or another student is having difficulty or may need support, you are encouraged to contact any member of SSET to express those concerns. You may also contact the group as a whole by emailing email@example.com. If your concern is urgent, please call 911 or Public Safety's emergency number, 727-343-1262 (Gulfport) or 727-420-8868 (Tampa). You are not being asked to diagnose any student's condition, but rather to let us know what student may be in need of support so that we can help.
Because we treat all reports as having been made in confidence, we may not be able to share with you the outcome of any concern you express. We will, however, attempt to confirm that we have made contact with the student. Because an email communication often includes identifying information, we cannot guarantee anonymity to those who make email submissions.
We urge you to express concerns in a timely manner so we can make every effort to help the student about whom you have a concern. Thank you for your support in this important effort.
