Employment Law 101: Understanding the Basic Concepts and Principles of Employment Law

This half-day seminar will cover the following topics:
- Top 10 Ways to Ensure You Will Be Sued for Employment Violations
Whether your firm is a one-person operation or has several staff members, knowledge of the employment law is imperative. This session is designed to educate the solo practitioner on basic employment issues that could cause liability for the practitioner.
- Employment Law 101 - Navigating an Employment Discrimination Claim
In this session, attendees will walk through an employment discrimination claim from beginning to end. The purpose of this exercise is to educate lawyers and possible clients of what can be reasonably expected to take place when a business or individual is dealing with workplace issues.
- Case Study: Advising a Business of their Liabilities
This interactive session will give lawyers a cursory overview of the pertinent employment laws as well as various record keeping requirements in Florida so that he or she can identify issues that can impact your client.
Who Should Attend?
Any Stetson Law graduate, no matter their current practice setting or experience level, interested in educating themselves on the basic concepts and principles of employment law.
