Special Law School Student Rate Available

Special Law School Student Rate for the Information Governance, Electronic Discovery and Digital Evidence National Institute sponsored by the Science & Technology Law Section of the ABA to be held here at Stetson’s Tampa Law Center 28-31 January 2014.

Model Rule 1.1 comment, governing lawyer competence, has been amended to say that in addition to keeping abreast of changes in the law and its practice, a lawyer should keep abreast of “the benefits and risks associated with relevant technology.”  This national institute offers lawyers an opportunity to do just that.  This unique blend of faculty (including Stetson’s Professor Carol Henderson and adjunct Professor Susan Demers), case studies, analysis of judicial decisions, clear explanation of where technology is and where it is going, and informative yet entertaining mock hearings presented in a three-day package, offers an experience matched by no other conference.  This is a  one-of-a-kind program, right here at Stetson, that you will not want to miss.

Information Technology 101 is a half-day precursor to the institute on Tuesday 28 January from 1 to 5 p.m. for those who want to sharpen their understanding of the technical environment that added the e to discovery.  This session will cover basic concepts for those who are entering the field while also covering elements, e.g. encryption, for those who want to broaden their knowledge.
