Pro Bono Opportunities to Fulfill Your Graduation Requirement!
Important Reminder: Stetson Law requires our students to perform a total of sixty (60) hours of pro bono service during their law school career, of which thirty (30) hours must be the performance of qualifying law-related service (legal pro bono). Full-time students and part-time students must complete all pro bono requirements before the start of their last semester of law school!
Legal Pro Bono Opportunities:
Community Law Program – Preparing for Client Contact – Now is your chance to get an introduction to Community Law and take the first step in participating in their Family Forms Clinic. Participation in their Family Forms Clinic will not only earn you legal pro bono credit, but can go a long way to giving you valuable face-to-face contact with clients! This training will be interactive and include dinner, so arrive promptly on September 6, 2016, at 5:30 – 7:30pm to Room SC-201. You will receive 2 hrs of non-legal pro bono for attending the training session! Gulfcoast Legal Services: Gulfcoast Legal Services offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available at their St. Pete, and satellite offices (Clearwater, Bradenton, and Sarasota). Volunteers may work in the following areas: Family Law, Immigration, Human Trafficking, Elder Law, Public Benefits, Taxation, Foreclosure/Housing, Birth Certificates/ID Program.
