October 5 : 11:45-1:15 : Great Hall : Learn about honing client interview techniques, helping the homeless, and tea with a professor at the EXTERN ROUNDTABLE
Join your professors for lunch and information on externships, including the Homeless Advocacy Externship, where you can hone your interview skills, research complex legal issues, help the homeless, and have tea with Professor Adams to discuss your experiences.
Clinical Education is excited to host its annual Externship Round Table Event, which will focus entirely on faculty run externship courses. The event will take place on October 5th (Wednesday) from 11:45-1:15pm in the Great Hall. Each presiding faculty member will have a round table for their externship(s), with interested students filling the remaining seats. This is an opportunity for students to speak directly with the faculty members about their course, the placement locations, and the classroom component.
At the start of the program, we will set aside 2-3 minutes for each faculty member to have the floor and speak to the entire group; focusing on what is important and exciting about their externship. Then we will allow about 10 minutes to answer questions from the students who elect to sit initially at a respective table. After 10 minutes we will ask the students to rotate so that everyone learns in detail about programs that interest them. We will plan on at least three (3) table rotations.
Lunch will be provided.
We ask that all interested students RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, before September 30 (Friday). Please call Ryan Hoyle, Assistant Director for Clinical Education, with any questions – 727-562-7359.
