New Jobs Available! Spring 2017 OCR Session P Application Open Until Tuesday, June 13 at 11:59 p.m.

The next opportunity to apply for Spring 2017 OCR opportunities, Spring 2017 – Session P, is open and applicants can apply, and modify applications, for employers in this Session until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Don’t forget that there are also opportunities for employment available on the Jobs Board!  OCR is one of our TWO places for you to find jobs; the other is the Stetson Law Jobs tab on Symplicity (i.e. Stetson’s “Jobs Board”).  Be sure to check the Stetson Law Jobs tab frequently, as opportunities are added here by individual employers on their own and new opportunities appear regularly.

Participating employers. Employers participating in this OCR Session include:

BaskinFleece (Recent Graduates for Associate positions in its office(s) in Clearwater, FL). The employer has provided the following information:
BaskinFleece is looking for an associate attorney who is interested in estate and trust litigation. BaskinFleece is a trusts and estates law firm centrally located in Pinellas County, just minutes from the courthouses in St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa. The firm’s primary geographic practice, however, encompasses all of the west coast of Florida, and anywhere in the state of Florida. The firm primarily deals with controversies involving estates, trusts, wills and guardianships in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater. BaskinFleece routinely deals with estate planning and litigation matters, including issues concerning the validity of wills and trusts, breach of fiduciary duty, lack of capacity, spousal rights, creditors’ rights and anything related to wills, trusts and guardianships. The vast experience in dealing with and resolving these specific issues has given the firm a wealth of knowledge – which other less involved firms may not have. It is that knowledge base that sets BaskinFleece apart from the other firms and attorneys practicing in estate planning and wills, plus trust and probate litigation and related areas of law. BaskinFleece handles trust litigation, probate litigation, and guardianship litigation cases in St. Petersburg, Tampa, Clearwater, and throughout Florida, from the pre-suit stages – including mediation – all the way through trial, both jury and non-jury, and at the appellate level, if necessary. In addition, the firm assists clients with estate planning from the drafting of a simple will to complex tax planning and wealth transfer matters for high-asset estates. BaskinFleece handles all aspects of probate and trust administration as well, accomplishing the process capably, competently, and in a timely fashion for the benefit of heirs, beneficiaries and all parties involved.

All applications for OCR are via Symplicity and the “OCR” tab. Step-by-step instructions for how to apply to OCR opportunities via Symplicity are available in the Spring 2017 OCR Instructions (located in the Symplicity Document Library). Applicants can apply, and modify applications, until the deadline, as no candidate materials are sent to an employer until after the close of the application period.

Stetson Law OCR Policy AffirmationEvery student participating in OCR must complete Stetson Law’s On Campus Recruiting Policy Agreement Form (found by clicking here) before their materials will be sent to the employer.  Note that if you completed this for a prior application Session you do not need to do it again (i.e. it only needs to be done once).

Stetson Law and this Career Development staff takes enormous pride in the fact that we consistently receive positive feedback from employers on our candidates’ preparedness.  Accordingly:
(1) Each document submitted for an OCR opportunity will be reviewed to ensure that it meets the proper formatting standards.  If a candidate submits documents in an improper format, the candidate’s materials will not be given to the employer.
(2) Each candidate must submit all documents requested by the employer, and if all documents are not submitted, the candidate’s materials will not be given to the employer.
