Fourth Annual Environmental Law and Justice Symposium at FAMU

The Fourth Annual Environmental Law and Justice Symposium will be held at FAMU College of Law on November 7-8, 2013. Co-sponsored with FAMU’s School of the Environment, this year’s symposium involves keynote lectures, panels, roundtable discussions, a book signing session, and an encore performance by Climbing PoeTree on issues of global, national, and local significance relating to this year’s symposium theme, “Empowering Environmental Justice Communities Locally and Globally.”

Below is an invitation letter to submit an article for the Fourth Annual Environmental Law and Justice Symposium issue of the Florida A&M Law Review. Articles are due on January 15, 2014.  The symposium is interdisciplinary in its focus;therefore, articles addressing environmental justice issues from a non-legal perspective are welcome.  Several authors have already committed to contribute to this symposium issue including Prof. Mary Wood (University of Oregon School of Law), Leslie Fields, Esq. (Sierra Club), Sid Ansbacher, Esq. (Gray Robinson), Jessica Scott, Esq. (EPA Office of General Counsel), Naysa Ahuja, Esq. (World Resources Institute), and Josie Balzac, Esq.
