Stetson University College of Law is hosting the Sixth Annual National Pretrial Competition October 11–13, 2013. In order to successfully run this competition, we need the help of the Stetson community, and by assisting with this competition, you earn non-legal pro bono hours. (If you are a current member of one of the Advocacy Boards, you should speak with your faculty advisor to confirm whether you are entitled to receive non-legal pro bono hours.)
If you want to help, please come to the Advocacy Center and sign-up on the sign-up sheets. The sheets are posted on a bulletin board near the back door, off of the courtyard.
What kind of help do we need?
Team Ambassador
- This is a great opportunity to watch teams in an actual competition!
- Will act as a guide to the visiting law schools guiding your assigned teams to the courtroom, and returning your assigned teams to the Great Hall. You will watch the competition round, and be expected to act as a runner if one of the bailiffs needs assistance.
- May be asked for information on the Tampa Bay area; such as things to do and places to eat, etc.
- Upon completion of the round and return of the team to the Great Hall you will return to the courtroom to remove empty cups, etc., so that the courtroom is ready for the next round. After this you are free to leave.
- Available Team Ambassador times
- Friday, October 11
- 8 people needed for each session: 8:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; and 1:15 to 5:45 p.m.

Your actual end time may be earlier. It all depends on how long the round runs and how long it takes you to pick-up the room following the round.
