|Event: Forum on Casino Gambling and Older Americans|
|Event Date:||February 27, 2014|
|Time:||12:00 PM - 1:00 PM|
Please join us for a public forum on Casino Gambling and Older Americans, co-hosted by the Center for Excellence in Elder Law at Stetson University College of Law and IAV, a nonpartisan think tank based in New York City.
Older adults are gambling at casinos at record levels today. Yet very few studies have looked at the effects of casino gambling on this vulnerable population.
Amy Ziettlow, an Affiliate Scholar at IAV, a nonpartisan think tank in New York City, traveled to casinos across the country and interviewed older gamblers. Her study, Seniors in Casino Land, is a revealing first-hand account of the modern slot-dominated casino and its addictive appeal to the elderly.
Amy’s talk will be followed by open discussion over a light lunch.
