Due 7/31: Latham & Watkins 2L Diversity Scholars Program
Latham & Watkins LLP is once again pleased to announce the acceptance of applications for Latham’s 2L Diversity Scholars Program, which awards select second-year law students at ABA-accredited law schools a $10,000 nonrenewable scholarship. We are proud to have given away almost $500,000 in scholarships over the past decade. As a new component to the program this year, 2L Diversity Scholars will receive an offer to join Latham as summer associates in summer 2016; the $10,000 nonrenewable scholarship is contingent upon acceptance of this offer.
Factors considered in choosing the Diversity Scholars include motivation for pursuing a legal career, academic and leadership achievements, life experiences and challenges, and interest in joining Latham and contributing to our diversity objectives. Candidates are asked to submit an application form, personal statement, resume, and official or unofficial law school transcript by July 31, 2015. The application process is open to all second-year law students, regardless of race, color, religion, citizenship, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, military service, disability or any other characteristic or condition protected by applicable law.
Finalist candidates will be interviewed this fall, and the 2L Diversity Scholars will be publicly announced in early October 2015. The process is open to all law students who have completed their first year of a full-time JD program at an ABA-accredited law school (class of 2017).
Application and additional information about the program can be found here.
