Campus Climate Survey Presentation
Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016
12:00 p.m., Great Hall
The Campus Climate Survey results will be presented during a Town Hall meeting tomorrow at noon in the Great Hall. All are welcome. Lunch will be provided.
As Co-Chair and Representative of the University-wide Diversity and Inclusive Excellence Task Force, Professor Scully and I invite you to participate in the Campus Climate Town Hall meeting on Thursday, Sept. 22, at noon in the Great Hall.
At that town hall meeting Sue Rankin of Rankin & Associates Consulting will present the results of last spring’s campus climate survey. The survey was designed to help us better understand our campus climate – recognizing strengths and successes while identifying challenges as a University. Our continuing goal is to create a diverse and inclusive campus climate that is welcoming and based on mutual respect and acceptance of a broad spectrum of views.
An executive summary of the climate survey results is now available on the Stetson University Many Voices, One Stetson website:
There you will find two executive summaries of the Campus Climate Survey results—one for the DeLand campus and another for the Stetson Law campus in Gulfport. The full detailed report will be available following the town hall meeting.
The findings of the climate survey are consistent with approximately 130 other colleges and universities Rankin & Associates has surveyed. Nonetheless, those results highlight some of our strengths and some areas of concern. Our goal is to use the information from the survey to make Stetson an even better place to work and study.
Accordingly, we will also be hosting follow-up forums open to all. At those meetings we will solicit input from students, staff, and faculty on positive initiatives we can undertake in response to the findings from the survey.
We want to thank everyone who participated in the survey and we look forward to hearing from you during follow-up open forums.
