Where can I obtain additional practice Florida multiple choice questions?
You may obtain additional practice Florida multiple choice questions in the study guide on the Florida Board of Bar Examiners website.
How can I obtain electronic fingerprinting?
Students may obtain electronic fingerprinting by going to www.l1enrollment.com or calling 217-793-2080 to schedule an appointment at one of two local locations - (1) St. Petersburg - Going Postal, 1700 66th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710; or (2) Tampa - UPS Store, 503 E. Jackson St., Tampa, FL 33602. Students must make an appointment. No walk-ins are accepted. Fingerprints will expire after one year so make sure your application is filed within one year of submitting your fingerprints.
When must I amend my Florida Bar Application?
Students have a continuing obligation to keep each item on the bar application current until sworn in as a member of the Bar.
How do I amend my Florida Bar Application?
Go to the Florida Bar website at http://www.floridabarexam.org/ and click on the Checklist, Forms, Study Guide and Information link. There you will see a PDF under the Forms section entitled "Amendment" that you may fill out and file with the Florida Board of Bar Examiners to update your bar application.
How do I contact the Florida Board of Bar Examiners?
The Florida Board of Bar Examiners may be contacted by phone at 850-487-1292, fax at 850-414-6822 and by US Postal Service at 1891 Eider Court, Tallahassee, FL 32399-1750 or FED EX or other delivery service at 1891 Eider Court, Tallahassee, FL 32308-4537.
Should I work while studying for the bar exam?
No. We highly suggest you do not work while studying for the bar exam. Proper preparation for the bar exam is a full-time job. Working while studying for the bar will make it very difficult to follow the preparation plan provided and will make it very challenging to put forth all of the effort needed to pass the exam the first time.
If I pass the Florida bar exam, can I waive into another jurisdiction?
Other jurisdictions may allow you to waive into them. However, you must check the jurisdiction of the state in which you intend to practice to see what the requirements are. Florida does not have reciprocity and does not provide for admission on motion.
What can I do to increase my chances of passing the bar exam the first time?
Do not work while studying for the bar, attend the bar preparation workshops and follow the Stetson Bar Study Plan.
What commercial bar review course is included in my tuition?
Currently Stetson University College of Law entering students pay for the Kaplan 3 day final review course as part of their tuition. To confirm you have paid for the course please check with the Business Office.
What do I do if I want to take a bar exam in another state?
Check with the states Board of Bar Examiners. The state may have a website or you may have to call the state's Board of Bar Examiners office to see when the deadline for applying is and how to apply for the proof of character and fitness.
