Jobs in Housing & Residential Life

Spring semester is here, and the Department of Residential Life is already looking ahead to the 2007-2008 academic year. We are recruiting graduate and undergraduate students to participate in our selection process to join the Residential Life team. Resident Assistants are pivotal members of the University community. As such, they have a crucial role in promoting a living and learning environment that reflects the mission and goals of our community.

There are currently 9 Hall Directors,12 Fraternity / Sorority Counselors, 58 Resident Assistants, and 2 Community Assistants who are instrumental in the lives of our resident student population. They are primarily responsible for fostering a community atmosphere within the residence halls, apartments, and houses by providing social and educational programming, and by responding to students personal and academic developmental needs.

Compensation for RAs include full payment of room fees for a space in a double room in an assigned residence hall during the times in which the residence halls are open. In addition RAs receive stipend amounts of:

1st Year RAs-$540.00 per year
2nd Year RAs-$639.00 per year
3rd Year RAs-$639.00 per year

RAs stipends are split and evenly paid during the academic year, with paychecks in the fall and paychecks in the spring.
