Keck Foundation Science and Liberal Arts Grant Funding

Description:
The Keck Foundation is funding two undergraduate programs for private, liberal
arts schools; undergraduate science and engineering funds requests for
equipment, faculty release time, or technical staff to develop new, innovate
programs. Keck also offers the same type of funding for liberal arts programs.
Programs do not have to be interdisciplinary, but this strengthens an
application. Typical grant amounts are $250,000 - $500,000.
YYouthActionNet
Deadline:

Description: YouthActionNet awards small grants to youth leaders
who coordinate volunteer efforts in their local communities worldwide. Support
is provided to individuals (aged 18 -29) for emerging youth-led initiatives
that promote social change, outline clearly defined goals, and have the
potential for growth or further replication. Award recipients will receive
$500 and are eligible to participate in an international capacity-building
workshop. Applications, which must be submitted in English, are due on April

Description: The
National Endowment for the Humanities is an independent grant-making agency of
the Federal Government which supports the Humanities. Each year the NEH's
Division of Education Programs offers teachers opportunities to study
humanities topics in a variety of Summer Seminars and Institutes. Please view

Harry
Ransom Humanities Research Center Fellowships

Description: Approximately
40 fellowships are awarded annually by the Ransom Center to support scholarly
research projects in all areas of the humanities. Priority, however, will be
given to those proposals that concentrate on the Center's collections and that
require substantial on-site use of them. This year's special topic will be
"In Times of War." We encourage applications from scholars investigating the
transatlantic cultural exchange of ideas, in particular, but not exclusively
those affected by times of war. We hope to foster inquiry into the nature of
the cultural and intellectual dialog between Europe and the United States.
Special consideration will be given to research proposals that address any of
these cultures.

Smithsonian Fellowships

Description: The
Smithsonian Institution offers fellowships for research and study in a variety
of field including environmental science, anthropology, earth sciences, art
history, and social and cultural history of the United States. Followships
range from Senior Fellowships to Graduate Student Fellowships. The Institute
also has a Latino Studies Fellowship Program.

Summer Program for Exceptional Student Education

Description: The purpose
of this project is to provide an opportunity for outstanding middle school and
high school gifted and high-achieving students to participate in and use the
resources of the universities and colleges in the state of Florida to expand

Sociological
Initiatives Foundation

Description: The
Sociological Initiatives Foundation supports research and social-action
projects that focus on understanding and finding solutions to a broad array of
social problems. Areas of particular interest include social and political
inequalities; poverty and employment issues; social welfare issues (e.g.,
education, housing, and health care); minority group and gender issues; second
language learning and use; literacy (first and second language); and topics
related to language in its social contexts (attitudes, dialects, gender, law
and medicine, education, etc).
